Frost/Nixon

Frost/Nixon is a 2008 British American drama film directed by Ron Howard. It is an adaptation of Peter Morgan’s play and focuses on the 1977 television interviews between journalist David Frost (Michael Sheen) and former president Richard Nixon (Frank Langella). The film reunites its two original stars from the West End and Broadway productions of the play.

After the Watergate scandal of 1972 and Nixon’s resignation, more than 400 million people watched Nixon leaving the White House. One of them was the British Journalist David Frost, who is recording a talk show in Australia, and decides to interview Nixon. The interview of an honest exchange between a man who had lost everything and another with everything to gain received varying reactions as one would expect.

The film was produced for Universal Pictures by Howard, Brian Grazer of Imagine Entertainment, and Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films. It was released in the United States in 2008 and the United Kingdom in 2009. The film received five Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director.
