King Kong- The Musical

King Kong is a musical and an epic modern myth that comes alive on Broadway through an outstanding mix of animatronics, puppetry, music, and stagecraft. It is based on the book by Craig Lucas with music by Marius de Vries and lyrics by Michael Mitnick and Lucas. Based on the 1933 film of the same name, the original production of the show was mounted in Australia in 2013. A re-worked Broadway production premiered in October of 2018

At the time of the Great Depression, the city of New York was a place of pressure, desperation, and hope at the same time. A fearless young actress, Ann Darrow, with a will of steel and dreams that reach as high as the Empire State Building, finds her big break in the form of Carl Denham, a filmmaker who promises to make her the star of his next big adventure movie. She joins Carl on a voyage to the mysterious Skull Island where they encounter an astonishing 20-foot-tall, 2,000-pound ape known only as Kong.

Do not miss this “heart-stopping” legend that’s always been too big to contain, directed and choreographed by Olivier winner Drew McOnie.
